Midyear results point to strong sales, payroll and job growth among Center-supported companies.
GREENSBORO, NC, UNITED STATES, October 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Small businesses supported by the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship are on track to generate approximately $67.1 million in gross revenue by the end of 2026, according to a straight-line forecast based on financial results reported through June 30.
Participating businesses reported a combined $33.6 million in gross revenue during the first six months of the year. If that pace continues, the companies will nearly double their collective midyear total by year-end—demonstrating the scale and momentum of entrepreneurs building companies, creating jobs and strengthening the regional economy from the Nussbaum Center.
The same reporting indicates approximately $13.9 million in gross payroll through the second quarter. Annualized at the first-half pace, payroll is projected to reach about $27.9 million in 2026—income that circulates through households, neighborhoods and businesses across the Piedmont Triad.
Respondents also reported 216 full-time W-2 employees at midyear and a net increase of 166 employees since the prior quarter. While hiring levels may fluctuate during the second half of the year, the results show that Nussbaum Center businesses are expanding opportunity as well as sales.
“These results show what happens when entrepreneurs have access to affordable space, practical guidance and a community committed to their success,” said Lisa Hazlett, president of the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship. “Our small businesses are not only growing revenue—they are creating paychecks, building capacity and generating lasting economic impact. We are proud of their progress and focused on helping them finish 2026 strong.”
Across industries ranging from construction, logistics and technology to health care, professional services and consumer products, the reported results reflect the breadth of the Center’s entrepreneurial community. The forecast also reinforces the value of sustained small-business support as companies navigate hiring, cash flow, market expansion and other growth challenges.
