LOS ANGLES, CA, UNITED STATES, August 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles (KCCLA, director Haedon Lee), in partnership with the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), presents “2026 K-Comics Origin Los Angeles: Korean Webtoon Experience Exhibition” from September 11 through October 17, 2026.

The exhibition explores the evolution of K-Comics, from Korea’s 100-year history of comics to webtoon, a distinctive storytelling format that has emerged in the digital and mobile era. Visitors will encounter iconic characters and scenes from popular Korean webtoons and experience their worlds through interactive kiosks, offering an immersive, offline experience of the diverse appeal and unique characteristics of Korean webtoons.

The exhibition will feature three globally popular Korean webtoons: All of Us Are Dead, Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, and Solo Leveling. Through immersive spatial installations featuring characters and key scenes from each work, visitors will feel as through they have stepped directly into the worlds of webtoons. The exhibition also provides an opportunity to experience webtoons in a physical setting, offering a new way to engage with stories that audiences have traditionally encountered primarily through digital screens.

The exhibition will also highlight examples of Korean webtoons expanding into dramas, animation, games, and other forms of content. Visitors will gain an overview of the One Source Multi-Use (OSMU) ecosystem, a defining characteristic of the K-Content industry in which a single story and its characters evolve across different media and genres to create new forms of content and intellectual property.

On September 11, the opening day of the exhibition, Joo Dong-geun, creator of All of Us Are Dead, will meet with audiences for a special program. Joo will discuss his creative process and the journey of his work from webtoon to global content, sharing his experience as a creator and the story behind the original webtoon’s adaptation into the Netflix series, which went on to rank No. 1 globally among TV shows.

This exhibition will provide LA audiences with an opportunity to experience Korean webtoons —now a global cultural phenomenon —in a more immediate, physical setting and enjoy some of Korea’s most representative works in a variety of ways.”
